Achieve Shorter Focal Length
Explicitly designed for Celestron Schmidt-Cassegrain telescopes, this unique lens reduces your telescope’s focal length and f/ ratio by 37%, turning your long focal length telescope into a fast, short focal length instrument. An f/10 focal ratio is converted to f/6.3, while an f/11 focal ratio is converted to f/7. For visual observing, this offers lower magnification with the same eyepiece and a wider field of view. For photography, it delivers a wider field and significantly shorter exposure times.
How to Use
The Reducer/Corrector is easy to install by threading the unit directly onto the rear cell of your Schmidt-Cassegrain telescope (or onto the reducer plate of the C11 and C14 models). Once installed, you can attach additional accessories such as T-Adapters, a 1.25" Visual Back, a Star Diagonal, or an Off-Axis Guider.
This fully multi-coated lens ensures maximum light transmission with near full-field illumination. It can also be used for terrestrial digiscoping, where the faster f/ ratio allows shooting in low-light situations while maintaining proper exposure. Always replace the plastic protective caps when not in use to keep dust away from the optical glass.
Body & Build Quality
The lens is housed in precision-machined aluminum with a black anodized finish. Internal surfaces are fully blackened and glare-threaded to maximize image contrast. The outer body features a knurled surface, offering a solid grip for easy threading and unthreading.
Due to its optical design, the Reducer/Corrector lens also flattens the field by reducing field curvature inherently present in Schmidt-Cassegrain telescopes, providing flatter views from edge-to-edge both visually and photographically.
