CE-Certified Front Dye Filters & High Security

Unlike standard binoculars fitted with temporary solar film, the Lunt SUNoculars-mini feature front-mounted, CE-certified internal dye filters that are pinhole-free and un-coated for maximum durability. They attenuate harsh sunlight down to a comfortable 1×10-5% transmission (OD-5 optical density), safely blocking 100% of harmful ultraviolet (UV) and infrared (IR) radiation while revealing the Sun in a vibrant, natural orange hue.

Featuring a custom-designed individual eyepiece adjustment system, focusing the binoculars or adjusting the interpupillary distance (IPD) between 56 mm and 71 mm (2.2 in to 2.8 in) will never disturb optical collimation, ensuring sharp and double-vision-free observations every time.

No. The built-in OD-5 solar filters block 99.999% of all incoming light. If you attempt to look at terrestrial objects, stars, or the Moon, the field of view will appear completely pitch black. These binoculars are engineered strictly for observing the Sun and solar eclipses.

Each eyepiece focuses independently by turning its respective ring. This unique design engineered by Lunt ensures that adjusting the focus or changing the distance between your eyes (IPD) does not alter optical collimation (alignment), delivering sharp, double-vision-free images.

With 6x magnification and a 30 mm (1.18 in) aperture, you can safely observe all partial phases of a solar eclipse, transit events of Inner Planets across the solar disk, and large sunspot groups on the solar surface.
