Explore the Cosmos with Precision and Ease
Celestron’s innovative NexStar Star Location Telescope (SLT) series has been a customer favorite for years, blending high-quality optics, an intuitive computerized system, and a robust single fork arm mount. The NexStar 90SLT reveals striking detail on the lunar surface, the rings of Saturn, the polar ice caps on Mars, Jupiter and its Galilean moons, as well as bright deep-sky objects. It also functions excellently as a land-based spotting scope for daytime nature watching.
Maksutov-Cassegrain Optical Excellence
The Maksutov-Cassegrain (MAK) catadioptric design utilizes both lenses and mirrors. Light passes through the front corrector lens to the primary mirror, reflecting back to a secondary spot inside the corrector plate before reaching the eyepiece. This produces high-contrast, razor-sharp images virtually free of chromatic aberration. Unlike Schmidt-Cassegrain optics, the MAK features an integrated secondary spot that eliminates the need for periodic optical collimation.
Advanced Computerized Mount & SkyAlign
- NexStar+ Hand Control: GoTo automation directs the telescope to any of more than 40,000 astronomical objects with a push of a button. Use the Sky Tour feature for an automated guided tour of the best visible objects based on your exact time and location.
- SkyAlign Technology: Center any three bright celestial objects in the eyepiece, and SkyAlign automatically calculates your alignment. You don't even need to know the names of the stars!
- Versatile Power Options: Powered by 8 AA batteries (not included), an AC power adapter, or a portable PowerTank lithium battery pack. High-precision servo motors provide smooth, low-vibration performance.
Included Accessories & Software
The kit comes complete with a StarPointer™ red dot finderscope, a 1.25" star diagonal, two eyepieces (25mm and 9mm for 50x and 139x magnification), an adjustable stainless steel tripod, and a downloadable copy of Starry Night Special Edition astronomy software featuring a 36,000-object database and interactive 3D sky maps.
